3 Stars for the Coconut hide. However the plastic from the hooks makes my tanks smell really bad like chemicals. I even tried washing and boiling them.

My two hermit crabs tend burrow under the same coconut she’ll even though I add other “homes” to their habitat. I bought this set in hopes that they would branch out/spread out and use this shell as well. I can report that it is a partial success; one or both will use this shell, but not with the consistency of the original shell. I’ve seen them using the rope bridge which is fun.

My hermit crab seems very curious about his new little coconut hut. He has been climbing on it and around it. I thought the opening might be a little low for his size, but I have found him hiding inside of it as well, so it's working. But i'm also noticing that it is getting moved around his tank a bit, which has been entertaining to see.The rope is really nice. I think the braids make it easy for him to climb, although I have yet to see him in action using the rope, but that is the nature of hermit crabs.

This smells like petroleum so it is pure hemp rope. The coconut shell is a little small for our moon crabs. They are bigger than hermit crabs. I leave it in the cage anyway and the crabs push it around and turn it upside down and right side up so they are having fun with it. The rope is sturdy and strong! My moon crabs have no problem climbing across it without falling off. They only come out after dark and they are very active. The rope gives them the most exercise of any toys I have placed in their cage. They love this rope. I highly recommend this rope and coconut shell for your crabs.

Not much to say. We siliconed our hut upside down on back wall to make a hangout cup. Rope goes from center of back of wall down to a shelf in bottom of tank to allow them to walk from upper to lower tank. Works well!

Crabs love the coconut house the best. Win win.

This little hut is a great size for my dwarf hamster. It appears to be a real coconut and therefore is safe for him to chew on. Now he has another cute little hide to stay warm in. I tried hanging the rope part in his tank using the suction cup, but unfortunately it just wouldn't stick to the glass. I used a small command hook instead which worked fine.

I just got this for the coconut hut. It took my Apistogrammas a bit to warm up to it, but once they did, they seem to enjoy spending time in there. Hopefully, I'll get some breeding soon. The included rope seemed nice enough, although I didn't use it. Rope isn't overly scratchy and the suction cups seem solid. You'd probably be happy with it if you wanted both.
