first of all - you get TWO magnets each with a key ring on the 'small' end of the magnetmy use case for these was to have a compact/strong magnet for verifying coins (make sure they didn t have an iron core). these magnets did exactly what I wanted - in fact when i used the magnet to 'test' a roll of cents it did 'find' some steel cents in the roll without having to empty the roll.in general - these are doing what I wanted and that is all I want - 5 stars

I'm a magnet guy, i've got them everywhere for many purposes, picking up things, hanging things, holding things... even opening things. having one on my keys to pickup dropped items, determine the metallergic content of various items or just being able to stick my keys or items on something within quick reach is always great. I've not tested brass specifically but these work just like any other strong magnet for testing compositions of materials.
