It is beautiful but only one arrived and there was no storage case.

These awls have a very satisfying weight to them. They are comfortable to hold and have a sharp point. The stainless steel portion is attached very securely to the handle. Lengthwise, it is similar to my standard plastic handled awl, but as you can see the shape is quite different. It does not come with a cap for the point, just a disposable protector. It pierces through 2 layers of vinyl easily and gives me a good sized hole for snaps or rivets which is what I use it for most.

This is so pretty but the handle is awkward. You can't push hard with it like my smoother rubber handled dritz awl. If you hold it JUST RIGHT it doesn't hurt, but you can't manhandle anything with this awl. It works fine, and it looks really pretty with my sewing tools. I use it, but it's not my favorite tool.

These awls are beautiful! I love them! As a quilter, I use an awl to help guide the fabric through the sewing machine so I get a perfect scant 1/4 inch seam every time. So many times tools like this are functional, but are uncomfortable to hold and not special in any way. I love using these, they are pretty and fit the hand very nicely. I do have 3 of my many sewing machines set up for use so I will probably order another set of these. Then the spare will probably be gifted at the next holiday gift exchange at my quilt guild.

These are very pretty awls, something I never thought I would say in a sentence. I have an awl with a wood handle that I use primarily for bookbinding purposes but I'll be using this one in the future because it's just so pretty. It's nice that there are two in the set. I also have what in the paper craft world we affectionately call a "pokey tool" used to weed out the paper from holes in die cuts and for other purposes. I'm sure I'll be using the 2nd awl for those purposes as I've put that one right next to my old well-used pokey tool. The 1st awl has gone into my bookbinding kit.The little gem appears to be glass but I'm not sure. One of them appears to be scratched but it's not that noticeable unless I get very close to it. Otherwise both tools are in pristine condition. Both are quite sharp. It's a bit amusing that they came in a box meant for scissors.Well worth the price for two of this item.Recommended.

I use awls all the time in my crafting. They are handy in so many ways for both poking holes, weeding pieces out of intricate die cuts and also to hold things in place or move them ever so slightly. They are one of the tools I reach for most often. To have such pretty ones that feel so special is a real treat. These won’t disappear on my craft table because the lovely stone setting on the ornate top bronze top will definitely catch my eye. They are well made with a very sharp point on the end. The top is surprisingly easy to hold onto, and these are well balanced in the hand. This is not only a very pretty tool, but a very functional one as well. Any crafter or needle-worker would be delighted to receive this set of two tools as a gift.

I got TWO of these as shown. The gems don't have a ton of fire, but they aren't plastic looking either. Metal is a base metal. Points are very sharp, which is good. These are lovely for getting bits out of dies or poking holes in paper. Easy to see on the desk, these are my new favorite hole piercers.

These awls are way better than I was expecting! First, I was expecting from the pictures that it would come with two awls, but I received three! Secondly these feel very heavy and solid, much more than my wooden handled awls. Third the gems on them seem to be glass not just cheap plastice gems. I'm actually very impressed with the quality and detail that these have. I use awls for quite a few different projects including bookbinding, leatherworking, and many more. I got these because when I'm crafting I like to also be inspired by my surroundings and tools so fancy tools makes me feel good and the fact that these are very effective tools not just pretty to look at is something I really appreciate. The tips are sharp and perfect for poking holes, while the weight of them can help drive the tool down with less effort. Though I'd prefer a different color gem, these are otherwise perfect awls.
