I have an old steel, stand-up dustpan that I love - painted a light blue and off-white enamel that is just irreplaceable. But it was not really functional anymore because the edge had become a bit warped with wear and a bit of rust. So it didn't serve well as a dustpan anymore - just sat looking "cute." I was able to slide one of these onto the edge of the old dustpan and it works like new again! I am thrilled. I'm sure they work on any dustpan - old or new. But I am so very happy to have been able to revitalize my little piece of history and make it functional again. They were a great value for the money, and I recommend them for anyone looking to tune up their dustpan!
