This is perfect for my needs, as I can attach the solid loop to a clip, and a carabiner holding a quick access bag to the hinged hook.This is also useful for closing drawstring bags after filling them up (sometimes I only have 1 free hand, and I do not want to spill the contents) - hook the opening of the bag on the hinged hook, and tie the end of a longer string to the solid loop; when you pull the tab, the bag drops and cinches tight.In my car, this allows a person to quickly access gear or tools. It’s basically a one-handed mounted carabiner that can be used for just about anything.

Years ago, I had a brass quick release clip similar to these. I used it to hold my fishing net. I lost that one, and have never been able to find a replacement. In function, these are similar, but these are not brass (might corrode over time), and the mechanism is not quite as fine.That said, these are perfectly fine. They are much lighter than the one I lost, so what I might have lost in quality, I gain in weight. The leather pull is pretty thin, and is the kind of leather that is ground up, mixed with glues, and then applied to a fabric base. The pulls might fail after a few thousand uses.
