I requested this item due to having a pair of old shoes that were very comfortable, but have become dirty on the inside and outside. They also have a horrible smell which I had hoped would be able to be fixed by using this item. This item I thought would be a time saver as I could toss them in the washing machine verses getting a wash cloth an manually trying to clean each shoe.When I got the items I was surprised by the light-weight and cheap feel. I still decided to try them, because I'd rather make an old comfortable already broken in pair of shoes look nice and clean than having to get a new pair and go through the process of "breaking" them in.When I opened the item the zipper stuck a few times while trying to unzip and then again while zipping, it appears the zipper is of very low quality. After running a full wash cycle I took them out and they didn't look much different, so I again tried them with hot water to see if there was any change and unfortunately the results were the same.The effort and time it takes to use these, the cost of the item, and the overall results make this item not worth trying. I like the concept and thought it would be better than a normal wash cloth from your local dollar store and is wasn't. You'd be better off using a dollar store scrub brush or wash cloth and saving the extra money for a good cleaning solution.

I have been warned about washing my sneakers in the washing machine. One of my friends did quite a bit of damage to hers by just throwing the shoes in. Putting my sneakers in these bags with a little detergent and then throwing the bags in the washer with a few other towels, really did the job. The sneakers came out very clean and the washing machine had no damage! This is a great product I would definitely recommend.
