Good value dog brush and comb set. The pins are long and not rubber tipped, but they don’t scratch my pup. This style brush is great for my Husky mix pup. It does a good job at removing her loose undercoat. I use the comb mostly for cleaning hair out of the brush.

The comb works well in detangling loose matting and removing burrs and whatnots that cling to my dogs' fur after they romp in the yard or park. The brush's long, stiff, angled bristles do a good job of fluffing the fur.

Let me preface this by saying that I have experience in grooming as a part time bather, as well as many friends in the grooming industry. It is really difficult to find a decent quality slicker brush that isn't ridiculously expensive; but this one is it! I can't speak to how it holds up yet, but I will update my review with my thoughts in time.If you have a curly/drop coated dog this is a great choice to brush at home with. I appreciate that it comes with a comb to check after brushing to make sure you got to the skin! The comb isn't my favorite quality (I do prefer my Chris Christensen 000 Butter Comb) but for at home use it's just fine.If you're just learning how to maintain your dogs coat at home, YouTube line brushing! Your groomer & dog will thank you :)

Most wire bristle brushes don’t get much hair off my double-coated Aussie because they aren’t long enough. This slicker brush has thick, angled, 1” stainless steel wire bristles that really get into his fur and pick up the loose hairs. It also gets tangles and mats that have recently formed or are about to fall off, such as under his belly where he won’t lie down for me to get to them. The base is almost 4 inches across so is wider than many brushes I have tried. The wide-toothed comb is nice for removing the hair from the slicker brush that I can’t get with my fingers but actually works well for combing the dog. He is a bit tense when I brush but seems soothed when combed afterward.

Excellent sized and feels very sturdy, felt good in my hand raking the fur. My dog who doesn’t love being brushed actually laid down asking for more as I brushed with this one! It quickly made his coat shiny and smooth while removing the extra underfur. The extra comb is an added plus and would be good for helping remove matted fur. Solid product for a great price, extremely fast shipping.

This appears to be a professional quality brush (it looks identical to one used by dog groomers on Youtube). The pins are long, bent at 45 degrees and said to be rounded. It has a stiff, slightly wavy handle which helps me to grasp it comfortably when holding it to remove undercoat (thumb by head of brush). From the video these can be held the opposite way to work on feet (just not on my dog, who has sparse hair on her legs).The tips of the pins are said to be rounded, but it's not enough to make it comfortable on my skin or on my dog's legs/belly. My DNA tested half-Malinois (Lakenois?) did seem to enjoy especially having her neck/chest and back brushed, and I easy removed 3 brushfuls of undercoat.The comb that comes with it is extremely sturdy and works well to remove the hair from the brush. Because the pins are indeed rounded and blunt it provides a safe way for me to brush her facial "furnishings" (not shown, I didn't figure that out til after my phone died).
