I have a pretty big collection of oil pastels. These holders seem perfect for some work that doesn't require using sides of the pastels.HOW THESE COMEThese come in plastic bags inside a large plastic bag. Each holder has a matching sharpener.FITI tried these on all of my pastels. There are a few pastels that don't fit in these holders such as Pentel. Most others fit okay.LOCKOnce you put the pastel in the holder, you push the green band into place which locks gently. This allows you to use the pastel without it shifting in the holder.SHARPENEREach holder has a sharpener to go with it because it is easy to contaminate the sharpener with color pieces. They work best on firmer pastels vs the extra soft ones.THE BOTTOM LINEThese holders and sharpeners are really handy to have, especially with shorter stubs of pastels.MY RATINGFIVE STARS. Although these don't fit all pastels, it fits many. I find them useful in certain situations and the sharpener is great for sharpening, but also help me gather color shavings for impasto type work. I recommend these, even for thicker crayons.

I didn't realize it would really be 45 pieces of pastel extenders but here we are! I love these, bit be careful, because the clamp can slide over the barrel of the extender body. This is great for a classroom, because there are a lot!
