Purely on an aesthetic basis, this cat bowl is really nice. It's solid, and the way it's made (allowing conversion into different uses depending on configuration) is very clever. If you wanted to set it up "permanently" as a slow feeder (for a grazing cat) and a water dish, you'd need two of them, but if you wanted it as a normal food dish and a water dish, just getting one would be fine. Or if your cat is one that doesn't graze, but eats their food on a schedule and entirely finishes their meal at each feeding (like most dogs, and also like almost no cats) and you don't mind changing the water dish temporarily into a food bowl during feeding time, you could get away with just one of these for a slow feeder, then turn it back into a water bowl once feeding was over.

Essentially this is a set of two stainless bowls, one large and one small. It also has a mode where you put a heavy wood piece over the smaller bowl, forcing a cat to pull the kibble from the bowl with their paw.If you have two cats, this can get contentious. I usually put food in a half-dozen different slow feeders to prevent my cats from fighting over a single source. I think this could be considered a digger slow feeder, it slows down one of my cats but the other cat can pull food from it as fast as they can inhale it, so a mixed success.

Beautifully made and sturdy. This set did not come with any instructions which would have been helpful. We are not using the slow feeder option and are using the two bowl water/food option. Very stylish.
