The filter is the same for overall dimensions as compared to the OE (Original Equipment) filter with differences in the plastic case design. The plastic case around the pleated filter element is the opposite direction of the OE filter case when you orient the carbon side of the filter the same as the OE filter. So, when you place the filter assembly into the refrigerator carrier, it snaps in nicely but when you press the tabs to release and pull the filter out of the carrier for replacement, it can separate the thin plastic face plate of the filter assembly from the larger/thicker plastic case of the filter assembly (see the profile view photo where the thinner plastic case face plate is at the top of the OE filter and at the bottom for the this replacement filter). This is not a big issue, but it is a difference compared to the OE filter. I've ordered this filter from several manufacturers and this manufacturer is the only one that orients the carbon filter in the case this way. The filter appears to work as intended for air filtration.
