Community scrapes are a great pre-rut / rut target for us archery hunters and really can be kept up year round. These ropes mimic the natural tendencies of deer for licking branches, etc.Beware - don't expect to get these in the mail and immediately head into the woods - you'll need to air out and disperse that oily smell once out of the bag.

First off this is jute and not hemp as advertised. It does have that petroleum smell to it so does need aired out good before use. It will serve its purpose fine after getting the smell out of it. It does seem like a decent build that should last enough to be a value for the price. I hit the stars hard because some wouldn’t use this for intended purpose because of material and smell.

These are great all around. They are durable and the frayed end is dense enough to capture a lot of scent. These should not be confused with a bait or attractant, but offer deer the ability to leave scent for other passing deer. I have the rope in front of the camera with bait and they frequently leave their mark on the rope. I noticed passing bucks in the rut checking in on it or passing downwind. I recommend this to other hunters for placement in high deer traffic areas.
