Very easy to install. I also like putting a bead of caulk between the outside of the box and the drywall, but this is additional draft protection. If you use a FLIR, you’d be shocked at how much air comes in/goes out without even realizing. Over time, that adds up and this simple install helps with that.

The outlet covers. When I punched out the foam area the whole inside came out, which obviously made it useless

These outlet insulation pads work well. They're pre-punched for a variety of uses (switches, outlets, or decora), and work really well. I've installed a few of these now, and they work exactly as you'd expect them to.

As a member of Amazon Vine, I ordered this 30-piece set of electrical outlet insulators for evaluation. Given my extensive experience with residential electrical work, I felt well-equipped to provide valuable feedback. These wall plate insulation gaskets are part of my home energy conservation and insulation project. With rising electricity costs, I am exploring every possible method to reduce my home’s power usage, particularly during the heating and cooling seasons.Here are my observations based on actual usage:The insulators fit perfectly over my outlets after I removed the precut outlet silhouettes. My first priority was to install them on all my exterior wall outlets, as this is where most of the heat enters or escapes my house. Before installation, I could feel a cool draft coming from the outlets, but these insulators have effectively eliminated that issue. I also installed these insulators on interior wall outlets since drafts can also occur through interior walls.These insulators measure 4.21 inches tall by 2.48 inches wide and work best with mid-size (4.88 inches tall by 3.13 inches wide) and jumbo (5.25 inches tall by 3.5 inches wide) wall plates. Standard-size (4.5 inches tall by 2.75 inches wide) wall plates typically sit proud of the wall unless the insulator is trimmed. The bottom line is that larger wall plates will improve the overall finished appearance.Overall, my experience with these insulators has been excellent. If you want to conserve energy, this product is a worthwhile option.
