Product Description
The 3002 Pk5 Single Gang Low Voltage Cut in Ring fro Network Tech Components.

A UL rated, single gang, low voltage cut in ring made with durable ABS plastic.
The 3002 Pk5 Single Gang Low Voltage Cut IN Ring from Network Tech Components are standard single gang sized wall inserts for installations.
Each pack includes 5x ready to use cut in rings. These are made from durable PVC and are UL rated. The rings can withstand some bending and are resistant to heat and flame. The rings have notches on all four sides that help to get a perfect level. The grabbing arms on top and bottom have phillips head screws. When turned these screws and arms create a tightly gripping installation on the wall the ring is placed.
These rings are best used on walls which can be cut and that the arms can grab onto such as sheetrock. Typically these rings have wallplates screwed onto their front but any low voltage item that connects to a single gang location can be used with these rings.
Specifications-
- Length: 4.25 inches or 10.8 cm

Level the cut in ring.
For this step its recommended to use a level tool. A leveler with flat sides will be needed. Place the flat surface of the cut in ring against the wall where its going to be installed. Place the level tool on top or a flat side and adjust the ring until its center.

Mark the wall from the inside of the ring with a pencil.
While holding the ring against the wall steady so as not to lose the level take a pencil and draw on the wall using the inside of the ring as a guide. This will leave a drawn ring on the wall that will create a level opening after cutting. We recommend using pencil so as any mistakes can easily be erased.

Cut an opening in the wall following the mark.
We are installing this single gang ring into a sheetrock wall using a sheetrock knife to make the opening. For other wall mediums different tools may be needed to make the cut. For sheetrock follow the mark staying on the inside of the circle. This will make an opening that may be slightly smaller than needed. This is desirable as the hole can be gently made larger with single knife strokes to get the perfect size for the ring.

Install the ring into the newly cut gap.
Take the ring and try to insert it into the gap in the wall. If the gap is too small on any sides remove the ring and use the sheetrock knife to cut a couple times in the needed spot. Try then to reinsert the ring and repeat as many times as necessary. Using this method the gap will be made just large enough to fit the ring and prevent any gaps from being made around it.
Use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten up the grabbing wings.
While holding the ring against the wall use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the screws. These have the grabbing wings on them which will move against the wall and snugly grab it. These two grabbing arms will securely install the ring to the wall. Before making the final screw use your hand to make slight adjustments to the ring to have it sit center and lever.
Attach a low voltage item such as an ethernet wallplate.
The cut in ring has a screw hole in the top and bottom. This is standard for low voltage rings and can support and item that can be screwed into it. In this example we are installing a single gang two port ethernet wall plate. This plate has two keystone jacks which ethernet wires connect to. These typically supply data and voice-over-ip connections.
Connect the designated devices.
After installing a single gang item to the ring connect the intended devices. The 3002 Cut In Ring will securely hold the low voltage item in place and provide a professional looking installation.
