I purchased this liner as a foundation for leveling out my pool. I found this one is one of the better one on the market so far. My only complaint is due to not having high enough temperatures to flatten and smooth this item creases so much

We gave a 10ft round above ground pool and this Thicker Pool Pads for Above Ground Pool works great for a ground cover before setting a pool in place. The size I ordered was 12 foot so with my 10ft pool, it gave me just the right overage that I was looking for. I used a plastic pound-in 6 inch tall landscaping boarder pieces I bought from Lowes to install around the edge of the overhang so that I now have a guard up to protect our pool from when I edge after cutting the grass. When packaged, you can't really tell how thick this might be but once unwrapped it is about the thickness of a plastic tarp we've used in past years. I installed this on the ground with the felt type material side up and the plastic side down. You may notice some seperation of the fet and plastic around the grommet areas but it didn''t appear to be too much and did not affect using this at all. I feel pretty confident thatt this will help to protect the pools vynle bottom and prevent weed or grass growth through the pool liner bottom - hopefully. I thought it was a very fair price and it is so easy to lay it out on the ground. Hopefully this will last a couple of years here in the Texas weather.

Pool liner pad comes nicely packaged and even has a bow. One side is a sturdy plastic and a heavy duty felt on the other. I’m have no idea the average thickness of these pads but I wouldn’t consider this extra-thick if you’re thinking of padding. It does provide a slight padded feel that you can feel through the pool vinyl, it’s minimal but it’s better than only concrete underneath. If extra thick is meant for the sturdiness then it’s a good description because this won’t tear easily. It will definitely help protect the underside of your pool from punctures. Grommets are provided around the edges for staking into grass or other landscapes. Our pool is a 10’ round so that’s why the extra material but I wanted something so I walk on because we are setting up our pool on concrete and it will get hot as temperatures increase. Highlights state that cover can be easily cut if you need to size to smaller pools. Pad comes nicely folded for two people to easily unfold and lay out. It fits our purpose. You can also use this for other purposes — events, picnics, or at the beach — as a pad for your outside activities.

I am very impressed with the quality of material. The picture looks like craft felt but it is nothing like that. It is more like a strong plastic tarp fused with felt on both sides. I can trust thar the pool will be onich softer ground than in previous years when I used a plastic pool underlayment that was thinner than a tarp, more expensive than a tarp, and falling apart before the end of the season. This will we easily stop small rocks and twigs from damaging our pool.
