I bought this product after researching many YouTube videos on power inverters. I found this company the most responsive to my queries, when I tried to reach their customer service through email. They guided me through the process and even shared a review by their customer about how they went about using Giandel power inverter on Toyota Prius. I want to use this power inverter as a source of power during camping as well as during emergency situations like power outage. And to use it with my Toyota prius . I decided to buythe 1200 W model because that seems to be the best for the Prius 12 V battery. This product comes with its own cables but decided to upgrade them with 2 AWG cables to handle higher currents without overheating. I also installed a 100 A fuse on my red line between the 12 V battery and the power inverter to be extra cautious and protective about my battery system. Installation is very simple and I tested the system with a few lamps and fans. I also connected my iPhone. It seems to be working just fine. Does not make any noise as a power output required was not too high. Decided to buy pure sine wave inverter as it is considered to be a standard for sensitive devices/equipment. I haven’t tested the upper limit for the output yet but I will in the near future. I love the long wire for the remote control. I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a power inverter given the strong Construction and receptive customer service, which is super important to me.

Working great so far. Best thing is the fan doesn't come on when running light loads.

I took the recommendation from Will Prowse on Youtube.During last winter's ice storm (8 days without power in Montreal), this little unit was used to power my house, from a LiFePO4 battery that I was recharging with the generator during the day. It's just right for minor requirements (laptop, lighting, TV, radios, chargers, etc) This unit is not powerful enough to run an induction plate or a kettle or large coffeemaker, but I never bought it for that purpose. It worked VERY nicely. It has a soft start. I'm very happy with it. Will Prowse has been using several of them for years, non-stop, with no problem. The switching on and off is very smooth, with the soft start. The soft start, if you start the inverter after switching on your device, could handle starting electric motors near the max capacity of the inverter. As I said, I'm very happy with this device.

Seller contacted me after I wrote this (initially 2-star) review pointing out their unit broke and gave me a full refund. Hopefully just a defective terminal. I have of been using it since I had the skill to repair it and did not have time to wait for a new unit, and electrically this unit has been working great! I recommend using heavier cables though if you'll be operating under heavier loads.--I had a 2KW unit for a couple years now and love it. Unfortunately I bought the 1200W unit and first thing I did was break the terminal. I've connected dozens of lug terminal with my van build and this is the first time one has broken. Not sure what material they're using on this but that is unacceptable. Terminals are way weaker than any 1/4 inch terminal I've used and they're larger.Photo shows broken terminal and the modification I did to get it working. Fortunately the unit was designed in such a way that I could open, remove the connection on the inside of the terminal, reverse the terminal, cut a hole in the front panel to bring the inside wires out, and connect both internal inverter wires, and battery wires on the outside. Still not impressed since this required damaging the unit, but at least I wasn't without power.

Update...Gave this inverter all the chances I could to make it perform as advertised... Used 00 gauge cables from the batteries to the inverter. Gave it a good connection for the ground.... And it still can't start my microwave on the first try. I need to start it then stop it right away and start it again. Then it runs ok. I even let the inverter spool up for a few seconds before using it. The positive stud is coming loose from the casing. I am very disappointed about this 1200W inverter. No way is it 2400W peak. I will write it again... The microwave is a 700W and it uses 1050W. So, well bellow the advertised power. Because of this I can not recommend this product.Bought it to install in a truck camper equipped with 2 lithium 100A batteries. The most power hungry thing in there is a 700W microwave wich uses 1050 watts at peak power. The inverter is almost not strong enough... Some time the microwave has to be stopped when started because it makes a struggling noise and the inverter will stop if keep it going. And sometimes it's ok. Based on my experience it can't be 2,400W peak power.Installation was easy and build quality seams good. One thing I don't appreciate is that the gauge of the cables is not stamped on them. So I have to take there word for it. The fan does come on but is not too noisy.

The following tests were all performed on a 1200 watt model with the supplied components and cables. For the lazy who don't want to read my entire review here are the pros and cons.Pros:Easy to set up and useExcellent sine waveConsistent operating hertz and stable AC votlageCons:"Peak" power range is near unusableSupplied cables for battery connection are too small (8AWG)Plain and simple it's 1200 watts, don't expect it to perform above this (even though it has a peak rating of 2400 watts) as you only have about 1 second in the range above 1200 watts to drop below that again or the unit will shut off reading overload on the display.Measured the output and found it steady at 59.99 hertz with voltages ranging from 120v at no load to 113v with full load on it (1200 watts). The sine wave this unit puts out is one of the best I have ever seen for a 12v inverter, however it is still an inverter so there is some very( and I mean very) minimal "noise" in the sine wave, So little in fact, that I doubt any regular electronic device connected would be affected by this.My only concern I have with this unit is that the cables supplied with if for connecting it to the battery are around 8 gauge (AWG) and are too small. One item I used was a toaster to load test the capabilities of this unit and found at only 960 watts the cables got quite hot to the touch after just 2 minutes of operation. This is affecting the units operation more than most people would observe and I will explain1. Uh duh they are hot...burn/fire hazard alert! But for the more tech savvy read on2. This unit measures voltage of the battery input to determine when the battery is too low and shuts off. With a heated wire between the battery and the inverter it acts like a resistor in the circuit, so not only is current flow being adversely affected, it also is measuring the battery voltage lower then it actually is (in my case 0.4v difference at the battery vs the connections on the inverter) and in turn the unit turns off well before the battery is actually depleted (by its standards anyways). I connected this unit with a 4 gauge (AWG) welding cable instead, then tested again, no heat from the wires and no quantifiable difference in voltage between the battery and the inverter now, this is a MUST for anyone planning to regularly load this inverter upFor those in Canada wondering, I purchased the 4 AWG welding cable and copper lugs from PrincessAuto where it is sold by the foot.
