I bought these for strength for a larger gate. They are very stiff, while trying to tighten the bolts to form around the gate pipe I broke the provided bolts. To install you have to take a pair of channel locks and pinch the ears as you tight the nuts.

The hinge seems to be very high-quality, however, the bolts are very low-quality. They snap when trying to loosen from just being hand tightened with a socket wrench.

These worked great for the purpose. We had a hate that was beefier that your standard residential chain link gate and needed larger hardware to fit it. These worked well.

These will not adequately hold up a tube style gate (for which this hinge is intended. Here are the problems:The bolts that compress the hinge around the gate tube are soft and break. I bought better bolts.The biggest problem is that the hinge itself doesn't go around the circumference of the tube enough to allow the compression to hold the tube. The top hinge is usually the most critical as this is the hinge where the tube og the gate wants to pull away. You can look at these hinges and tell they aren't going to hold up to any weight. Just sitting there you can see a gap between the tube of the gate and the part of the hinge closes to the gate hangar and no amount of trying to apply greater tightening is going to solve that problem.These hinges might be ok for a very short gate but anything longer than a few feet and the gate will not withstand even casual use, the gate tube will pull away from the hinge.I used 4 of these hinges along with the very nice stainless pillars made by the same company and even with 4 hinges, the gate tube is pulling away from the hinges.As you tighten the bolts, because they are some distance away from the tube they cannot make the hinge clamp around the tube. Had the company added just another 1/4 inch bend on each side then tightening the bolt would do it's job.I wouldn't recommend these hinges for any gate over 3' in length, the gate will pull out of the top hinge. I used 4 hinges on a standard farm type tube gate 10' in length and before it was opened and closed twice the tube is already pulling past the very slight curve of the hinge.Buy something better, there are plenty.
