If you have a Mikuni carburetor with a 40mm intake this is the correct part. Bought this after the one I previously order was not the correct openning size for the Mikuni carburator installed. This is common occurence with the 1999 Polaris Sportsman 500 parts bought on Amozon. I had 50/50 chance of getting the correct parts the first try, not sure if this because Polaris had two different variation of the same model on that year. So, make sure to compare it to the one you are replacing. Anyway, the boot fit like a glove on the carburator and intake manifold. Put it all back together and it started on the first crank which meant no air leaks. I do recommend now we will see how long it last.
