This is very sturdy and trustworthy device. Good smooth roller. Great for climbing, but I’m thinking that I can also use it during a horse emergencies. My friend had to rig a hoist when her pony hurt its leg. You never know when you’ll need one of these. Also a huge help getting hay bales up in the barn, so not just for climbing. Although, you may want to purchase separate ones to use for specific purposes. Easy to figure out how to use and well made. A very rugged and useful device in my opinion. A good size that can be stored in backpack pocket.

I'm not a climber of any sort, and I don't know anything about climbing or climbing gear. So if you are a climber and are considering buying this pulley for that purpose, ignore this review. I got this pulley for stuff like pulling on trees when felling, uprooting small stumps, etc. It seems very well made and strong, but I don't intend to use it in any situation where a failure would put me at risk of injury.

This is a tough and strong rope pulley for any backyard or hiking use. I am using it for a zip line which I think would work perfect. It's extremely strong and the aluminum is of great quality. The finish is superb as well. I got 2 of these for the backyard zipline and I will be using a thicker steel line to run these pulleys from.Hope this helps those out there who would like to use it for regular pulley or other options

Excellent pulley, i used 2 to create a 5 to 1 haul system, pulling over trees, and in conjunction with a port a warp to lift large bunches.

This is the second of these I've gotten because I was curious. This one is exactly the same as the previous one I've gotten with two exceptions: the brand name and a stamp that says it's now got a UIAA certification number (EN12278 for those who might want to look it up). I'm doubtful, as I suspect all of these are being made by the same manufacturer somewhere in China, and are being given the stamp without actual certification. Therefore, I'm including the same comments below that gave for the first pulley I received. Having two allows me to create a block-and-tackle arrangement if I want to, that's why! This is a great pulley for use with ropes up to 16mm, but I would strongly caution against using it in circumstances where human life hangs in the balance. Not for climbing and not for high-angle rescue. There is NO indication that it is ANSI, UIAA or otherwise certified for it's claims of weight/force maximum of 16kN per side (total of 32kN).Great for hanging deer, bear bags, hanging gear, lowering gear, lifting large items, etc. Use one at either end of a clothesline if you want. Probably fine for hanging a hammock where the fall won't kill you. It is not a block and tackle, so it won't necessarily minimize the force needed to lift items, although sets of two (or multiple sets) could be used as such if you know how to rig them.

Im was super excited to see this pulley arrive. After opening it up, I knew right away the build quality was awesome. Its all aluminum construction makes it ultra light for a pulley this big. The pulley is huge and it can fill the full palm of my hand. The side leafs and the wheel rotate smoothly. My line doesnt snag or get hung up in the mechanism. We use it to help hoist gear and ourselves up and down into a tree stand for bow hunting. We used to have the line go around a branch. This would eventually wear down the rope. Now we have this fastened above the our tree stand. We can bring things up or down without damaging the rope or our gear. Its applications are a bit endless.Overall very pleased with its performance and will definitely get more of these in the future.

Review of: **ProClimb 30kN Large Aluminum Rope Pulley - Single/Double Sheave, CE/UIAA Certified**I am using this pulley as part of my home gym cable system, routing cables overhead with weights attached from below for various exercises. It has very smooth motion, is very strong (I have only suspended about 200 pounds so far but it seems like it could handle much more), and the split hanger design makes it easy to insert cables that have attachments on the end. The finish is a really nice looking blue metallic and it has various certifications printed on it. I have no idea if these are legit, but it definitely feels like it is well made.My cable is much thinner than this pulley is designed to handle but it works just fine. You could easily route a typical climbing rope through it or other types of cables or ropes.FWIW, this pulley is almost identical to another pulley I ordered from Amazon from "NAXEN", just a different color finish. If I needed another, I would just buy whichever one is cheapest, as the are functionally identical.
