Where have you been all my life. A huge grip of polishing drums for the rotary tool. The value on this kit is very good, as polishing grade drums (particularly fine grits) are not easy to find, nor very affordable. This batch will last over a number of projects and give me a good variety of grits for a great, highly polished final product. Very satisfied to have a big box of consumables, affordably. This said, I did drop a star because they are shipped in a flat case and do some rattling around (and picking up loose grit from their box mates.) I'd have preferred something better that protected each grit, as the fine grits are particularly sensitive to grabbing a stray particle.

These Dremel Sanding Drums are great for touch up work. It fits my Dremel and both drills. The drums are clearly labeled by grit and a small plastic storage container is included.I tested the drums on the corner of a 3/4" Baltic Birch bed frame. The frames required touch up after rough cutting the arc on the band saw. The sanding drum (400 Grit) quickly smoothed out rough edges at a fairly slow speed. It took a little time to remove the bumps which allowed me to sneak up on the correct arc.The nicest feature is the ability to peel off the worn sanding surface to reveal new sandpaper. However, I did not have to peel off the 1st layer of sandpaper during the five minutes it took on the bed frame. Initially, I was concerned with the way the peel off feature looked. Unlike other small sanding drums, the sandpaper is wound around the shaft, and is similar to a roll of tape, there is a loose end piece. It does not catch or impede the function. And when the sandpaper loses its edge, you peel that piece back to reveal fresh sandpaper. This is a good product to have on hand for light touch up work where a sander is too much tool. The mini drums give you more control. These are a great value given the multiple grit sizes. I'm sure there are a million uses for hobbyists.

These aren’t too bad for the most part, until you try and peel off the used layer, what tends to happen once you wear down the first layer and then you try and peel off the old layer it spirals up towards the top so you can never really get a full clean outer layer…So what happens is you end up with only being able to effectively use a small part of the drum because you can never peel off the full used layer to reveal the new layerAll in all I won’t end up using these much because they are too much of a pain in the !!!

These sanding drums are composed of tightly wrapped sandpaper into a roll, and something like hot melt glue applied to the shaft to hold the sandpaper on. They are clearly labeled with the grit, which is helpful at these fine grits. I wouldn't expect them to last super long, but they should work well enough

These sanding drums are for very fine sanding operations. The most coarse grit is 400, so as long as you understand that these are more for polishing than sanding, these are nice for smaller projects. A dremel is great for getting into small spaces but not for large sanding jobs. These silicon carbide grits seem to last, as long as they don't get clogged with debri. But the nice thing is that you can unwrap the outer layer to reveal new material underneath. The case lets the drums move around - no feature to keep everything in order, so you might have to hunt around for the grit you want, but they are clearly labeled with decently large font.

This set is perfect for small rotary tool work where you need a range of grit options. The 400 to 2000 grit progression is ideal for shaping through to final polish, especially on plastic or wood. I liked that the sanding drums are tightly wound and don’t unravel with use. They fit my Dremel securely and the included box makes it easy to keep things organized. Great value if you need precision sanding in a compact kit.
