Usage:
1.Open the filter vessel of the sand filtration system
2.Remove the existing filter material (if it is in the container) and clean the filter container
3.Fill the filter container with a filter ball
4.Close the filter container
5.Turn on the machine and start working

Our pool filter has been running with sand, but after a few years, the sand has been worn down to extremely fine particles that no longer get caught in the filter, so it runs straight through without getting filtered out, which ends up on the bottom of our pool. It's super annoying, so I grabbed these hoping it would catch more and they really work! They certainly filter out a lot more than our worn-down sand did, but they do require cleaning more frequently and it's not always easy to open up the whole filter system and fish them out, clean them, and put them back. I haven't had these in long enough to have an issue, but common sense tells me that if you don't clean them regularly, they'll grow algae and cause a mess for the pool so keep on top of it.

I ended up having to get a out 5lbs for my sand filter, but the results were impressive. We have a well which pulls clay and sand, so good water come up with a lot of extras. After running my pump and sand filter with these in it for a day, it took chololate milk looking water and turned it crystal clear.Set comes with a small sack to put the balls in if you want to take them out and wash them. For me, Ill probably try to backwash them inside the container to beat them up and shake all the material loose. As i said, worked better than i anticipated, and it makes your sand filter weigh next to nothing. Perfect if you plan on moving it around a lot.

I love pool filter balls much better than sand. I like to have plenty on hand so that I can rinse them in the washer and reuse, but also so I can go ahead and put more back in the filter while the others are rinsing. I love that you can just keep reusing them over and over and it just takes a few minutes in the washer to come clean on rinse and spin. Easy on the wallet.

These work great in larger fish tank filters. Sumps, cannisters, etc. Just wash them when they are dirty and reuse it. Durable, easy to use, and inexpensive.

We never tried the sand for our filter and have only used the filter balls and we love them. The only reason I had to order more was because we bought a bigger pump and sand filter.

I uses these in both my pool and my aquariums they work better the sand and much cleaner you can just put them in the washing machine to clean them every year instead of having to make sure they get cleaned correctly like you have to do with the sand. To many people I know didn't change there sand on time or get it fully clean and it had toxic mold in it, I just take these out at the end of the season when I shut the pool down and wash them dry them and vacuum seal them till next year so no worries on the mold or bacteria in the pool
