Really a nice crimping tool. Worth the money. Heavy duty. Used it to crimp 1/4” aircraft cable. Made it easy. Much cleaner crimping than clamping.

This arrived quickly. I purchased it because a friend who was a professional line rigger for a major motion picture company commented that it appeared identical in shape and specifications to one of his crimpers, which cost more than three times as much.I used this to make sixteen 1/4" galvanized reinforcing cables for a building. I found this to be far easier and produced better results than using U-bolt stays.I have only one minor complaint:On receipt the rubber hand grip on one handle had been partially abraded away on the end, as though the tool had been dragged. The packaging was undamaged, therefore this must have happened before packaging, rather than during shipping. This defect did not affect the use of the tool. It is purely cosmetic. But both the manufacturer and consumers should be aware that it happened. I have not approached the company on this minor matter and do not intend to, because it did not affect the utility of the tool.

I am a reasonably strong person, and I find these difficult to use. I really can't imagine a scenario where these would be the best tool for the job.Pros:Durable build qualityTons of leverageEasy maintenance - just keep the moving/sliding parts lubricated with greaseCons:Stiff and heavy makes it difficult to accurately position them for correct crimping procedureNot as light, modular, inexpensive, or accurate as hydraulic swaging tools which free up a hand to hold the ferrule/wire forManufacturer doesn't offer different heads for crimping - 1/8" is a very common size which isn't includedDifficult to get consistent crimpsTakes up a lot of shop space to store when not using
