When a mouse ate my old plug wire and then got fried, I found my miss fire problem. I took a chance on a off brand coil set and I am glad I did. I changed both coils and plugs and I can't remember when the engine started so quickly. These work perfectly.

Yes the small coil wire connects on the lower side of the coil. It's not a problem, it's only a 1/2 inch closer to the engine than the original one. These coils solved my poor running condition. It runs like new. If your Kohler 7000 series engine is over 2 or 3 years old and bogs down under a load, and smells like it's running rich, there's a very good chance your ignition coils are bad. Remember that the coil and spark plug wire are one, either one could be bad, it's a cheap and simple fix.

They seem to do the job. Has a good spark. I hope they last. They were just a bit hard to install. the right side bolt was much harder to adjust the gap then the left. That could be the coil but maybe the mower.Update: The cable insulation is starting to pull out of the boot. Don't want it to short out.I cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and let that dry. Then I wrapped it good with electric tape over the boot and the cable. I think that will work. If you buy it then wrap it before you install them. Or else return them.
