I use the white marble for my kosher salt and the gray one for freshly ground pepper. They look very nice beside the stove top. The marble is heavy, not cheap.

I went to culinary school and love to cook. I use sea salt quite often and wanted a salt cellar that looked nice on my kitchen countertop. I came across this set and it was exactly what I had in mind so I ordered it right away. These salt cellers are amazing and great quality. They are heavy and built to last. The lid keeps the salt fresh and protected from the elements. While I use the white one for salt, I use the black one for my rings while I am in the kitchen. Recently I placed my wedding ring on the counter top and forgot about it. After hours of searching for it and panicking I found it and swore that I would get something to keep it safe while in the kitchen. These salt cellars are beautiful and functional and I could not be happier with them.
