Mix a solution of white vinegar and water within equal parts and pour within a spray bottle, and spray the twine down with this formula.you can put the hemp rope in a ventilated place for 1-2 days, the smell will disappear

Used the rope to wrap a metal column support in our finished basement. Looks very coastal nautical. Do spray vinager/water mix to reduce smell. Smell will all go away in a few weeks.
