The brake sensor and brake pads are used in conjunction to detect wear of break pads. Once the pads are past the limit value, the sensor would sound an alarm to signal break pad replacement.

Consequences of damaging induction line:

If brake sensor is damaged, an alarm message will appear on the instrument panel and the wrong amount of force may be used on brake pad, shortening its usage.

Installed on a 2021 Mini Cooper S convertible. The car was saying to replace the rear brake pads within 500 miles, yet they still had 90% of the pad left. Car would not let me reset the pad wear message, so I suspected a bad sensor. This replacement fit perfectly, and allowed me to reset the brake wear message.
