3.5 Inch Long Solid Copper Nails
USE FOR:
- House projects
- DIY craftsmanship
- Boat building
- Science experiments (make a battery with a potato or lemon!)
- Tree & stump
- Decor
HOW-TO:Prepare by drilling pilot holes (using a 1/8” or 9/64" drill bit) into the wood or surface you'll be using the nails on. This will allow you to pound in the relatively soft copper spikes without bending them.
WHAT'S INCLUDED? The package includes 20 copper spikes each measuring in at 3.5 inches long. Made in the USA

Bought tonsil into stump and roots of old mimosa tree. No bending, penetrated stump and roots with ease. The end result will be no growth next spring.

Perfect copper nails. Full count and no issues whatsoever. Product is as advertised. With the proper pilot hole and proper hammering technique you are able to drive the nails with no issues. On “denser” or “wet” trees if the drill has issues drilling, use a bigger drill. It’s not the nails fault if it bends, look at your technique. Unless you need to be reminded of your work; I placed them in to almost the head, cut it off the head and then used a countersink or trim nail setter to set the nail as deep and completely as possible. As far as doing a good or bad job; be patient and realize each tree has different characteristics. Some may even require several nails and some applications require different size. They work, only your application and technique will negate their effectiveness.

Unfortunately I am unable to give a result as to whether or not this item killed the tree. The trees I am attempting to kill have multiple trunks coming out of the ground so even though we hammered this through the core of the largest trunk the other trunks are still growing branches. The nails are quite soft so if the tree is a hard wood it is very difficult to hammer it through the core.I will write an update as soon as I know whether or not I am able to kill the trees.

Shipped and arrived quickly. Great price. Although I predrilled, the center of the nail is still soft and bendy. The is the nature with copper, though.

Product is as described and of high quality. But in the end they are quite expensive for 8 oz of copper.

These copper nails helped kill a stubborn (huge) tree stump on my slope. I nailed them in roughly one foot apart at the base and sprayed the edges of the bark (where new growth and leaves emerge from) with herbicide. A month later and I no longer see any new growth emerging.
