This set of heat-shrink tubing is a great set to keep around for battery cable repair, wire repairs and connections, and other items requiring an extra layer of protection. This set of heat-shrink tubing features a 3:1 shrink ratio, which provides an extra-thick and durable protection for wires, cables, and other items. This heat-shrink tubing also features a heat-activated glue that keeps the heat-shrink tubing securely in place while sealing the item from dust and moisture. This is perfect for battery cables and other large and heavy-duty applications where an extra-thick layer of protection is required. This heat-shrink tubing worked well on several sets of #2 power cables for our solar inverter. Because the battery cables were cut to length with new terminals crimped on the ends of the cables, the extra-thick and durable heat-shrink tubing was necessary to protect the ends of the cables as they enter the copper terminals. This also helps minimize the risk of something making contact with the ends of the battery cables. The heat-shrink tubing was simple and easy to install and shrunk to the appropriate size without any issues.

I remember years ago when heat shrink 1st came out it was a much thinner material without near as much shrinkage, and it certainly didn't have the glue/wax inside to help waterproof the joint. This new thicker shrink with better shrinkage and adhesive lined helps immensely to improve the reliability and longevity of connections.I've recently tested and used this heat shrink in a project and it performs very well, as expected. I like how the inside adhesive just shows itself when the shrink is shrunk and also how you can form the amount of bend or straightness in the joint before it cools. It then sets very rigid in the shape that you've pre-set. Very handy for adding a bend to the cable as it leaves it's connector in the case of it needing to be located in a tight space.I've included a photo showing a piece of this shrink with the end shrunk and squeezed so that you can see the internal adhesive peeking out the end. The only thing I could possibly suggest to the manufacturer for improvement to this product is to identify the Kilovolt insolation specification. I do sometimes work with high voltage and that would be a good specification to know.I've done a bit of market research on Amazon for this specific type of product and find that the current price of $9.99 on sale currently at $8.59 then with a current 10% coupon brings the final price to $7.73 which is an excellent price for this quality shrink. This kit of heat shrink tubing (with adhesive inside) is handy for people who do lots of wiring. I restore old cars and its nice to have a selection of pre-cut tubing in two colors. They range from 3/32" to 3/4" inside diameter which covers most applications. They shrink about 3:1 with proper heat and the presence of the adhesive inside really helps them stay put. Just remember that if you have to make a change later, it will be easier to cut the wire back than try to peel it off with the glue. This kit will keep me going for at least a couple projects!

This is a decent set of heat shrink. The 3:1 ratio seems about accurate and they are lined with adhesive to keep moisture out. It is pretty think stuff. That can be good or bad depending on what you are doing with it. It is flexible once cooled down but not as much protection as the thicker heat shrink. It heats up decent and doesn't seem to burn easily. Good stuff and I recommend it.

Adhesive lined shrink tubing is so useful in automotive and marine wiring. I just finished adding a mic to a hands free system and needed to splice into the mic wiring. Using this type of shrink tubing ensures that I have a good seal- no moisture. I just stopped using non Adhesive shrink tubing for anything that works outside. It's saved me a lot of hastle.The tubing is made well although I would caution not to allow open flame to come close or in contact as it will scorch it. I use a heat gun- no issues then.It's a great kit with many different sizes all cut to work well right out of the box for wiring. Worthy of recommendation imo.

I do a lot of electronics repairs and heat shrink tube is a must have. I do have to make sure wires are not bare after making repairs. Using electrical tape for me is not something I like to do as it does not last. Heat shrink tube lasts and if you do it right you will have a perfect seal. It is easy to work with using a torch style lighter or you can use a heat gun.

This heat shrink tubing kit is an awesome buy. Using these heat shrink tubing makes my work look more professional and insulates the wiring at the same time. The kit has seven different sizes in both black and red. The black and red can be used to color code the wiring. The little box makes for convenient storage. The price is actually much lower than what I have been buying in the local stores. I do recommend these heat shrink tubing kit. It is priced right and does an awesome job.
