The velcro doesn't fail. The adhesive does. The room I used these in, frequently gets over 75 degrees. When it does, these start falling off the wall, unless there is absolutely no weight on them.

these strong adhesive/hook and loop combination strips are a great way to hang framed artwork and pictures without needing to put holes in the wall for anchors, etc. another nice feature is that you can attach the strips to the frame before mounting, and use a level to set the picture all at once, rather than needing to measure, mark, level, etc, that you need to do with traditional mounting hardware.

I got these ubetterlife hanging strips to hang up some frames in my nursery.While they are not 3M ones, they are quite similar.They were easy to apply and even though they have been used to put up ikea frames which are relatively light, they have held up quite nicely.I've tried out a few with applying and pulling out and I've had no issues.The 3m ones usually retail for about $18 for 10 large strips of $27 for $34 so this is surely a bargainI know that time will tell how long these last and how much weight they can hold but for now, they work quite well.

With a fresh one (yes they expire), they can be removed easily, no damage. The adhesive seems very similar.However, I will need to update, because these harden and dry over time. The velcro and adhesive looks and feels very similar, the question is, long term durability. I find they last a good 5-6 years. I think coming back in 90 days, remove the adhesive and see how the adhesive and velcro does.For now, its like the real one lol.
