These are fun and the plastic dial turns easily and stays in place. It is marked from 0 degrees to 360 and all angles in between. The scale is easy to read

I do think the sellers of this device need to invest more in English research - these are not "Proteractors." And they're not compasses either. They are however better than the traditional one-piece half-circle protractors we grew up with in school. Not only are these fully circular, they have a tightly mounted rotating arm that you can use to set a specific angle and know that it will remain the same, if you need to draw multiple examples of it. You'll want to draw the baseline and center point first, then lay this protractor on top of it to designate the desired angle. You can of course also use this to measure a pre-existing angle on the paper. Personally I find this type easier to use, even though it's smaller than the other style tends to be.You get 15 of them, so although these may seem a little overpriced, they aren't too bad.

First no compass as the title suggests, second the swing arm is a little stiff, and third the printing on the inner numbers are slightly hard to read. HOWEVER, the photo of the product doesn't show a compass, the stiff swing arm allows you pick it up and read the values without worrying the swing arm will move (or to show you teacher as you walk to his/her desk), and you can pick it up and read the inner numbers up-close if you need to.As an elementary school protractor for intro to geometry works well.

It gets the job done at the end of the day, but the swivel is tight and squeaky. I was hoping it would be smooth turning so you could just put your pencil on the edge and push it easily to where the other side of the angle is, but no. The swivel is really tight, so you would really need to push kinda hard, so I took off a star for that. And the center of the swivel is a black line, I was hoping that part would have a slit so that you could use it like a stencil and draw a straight line with it, so took another star off for that. Its ok for a bulk pack and maybe to give away to kids for free.

I like these very much! They are printed with degrees in both directions in different colors (red and black). They are a nice size for storing, and sufficiently sturdy for use. They come in a pack of 15, so unless you buy two packages, you'll probably need to ask your students to pair up. One thing that was maybe not great is that the rotating angle measure is very tight. Little hands might have trouble moving it, and bigger hands might force the movement until it breaks. I don't think the rotator will get looser over time. Too tight might be better than too loose for a moving part, as long as it does not prevent students from the intended use.In any case, I think we need to get back into hands-on learning of mathematics instead of online (covid, post-covid) instruction. Don't you?

Deducting stars because this does not include a compass. It only includes the protractor. However, the protractor itself is useful and this is 15 pack so you can donate to a classroom or I guess just have a bunch of protractors laying around.
