  • Notifies you of braking and break-aways
  • The receiver illuminates a red light letting you know your BrakeBuddy is activated
  • Simply plug the transmitter into the BrakeBuddy and plug the receiver into your lighter receptacle
  • The classic alert system is included with the purchase of a BrakeBuddy digital classic braking system

Motorhome brakes were not designed to stop the added weight of a towed vehicle. RV'ers towing a vehicle need BrakeBuddy, the best selling auxiliary braking system that shortens the overall stopping distance and keeps them legal with all North American towing laws. The classic alert system gives you peace of mind that your BrakeBuddy is doing its job. Simply plug the transmitter into your BrakeBuddy and plug the receiver into the lighter receptacle. A red light will illuminate letting you know that your BrakeBuddy is activated. The driver will be alerted if the towed vehicle becomes detached.

I've had the brake buddy system for a number of years and found it to be a great system. This was bought to replace one that had been stepped on and it works perfectly. Id recommend.

I bought this unit and I am somewhat disappointed. I have a 40 foot Pace Arrow and it does not communicate very well between the two pieces.

This was a replacement for one of the alert system plug in that broke. The replacements were identical and worked great.

I bought this last year and haven't posted a rating till now because I forgot about it. I have a small 27ft class A motorhome with aluminum sides and fiberglass caps front and rear, so it isn't a huge motorhome. I got these because the ones I got with the motorhome and the Brakebuddy, that works fine, didn't seem to work. And, as I found out these aren't much better. I apply the brakes and I can feel the drag from my Jeep Grand Cherokee helping to slow the whole rig but most of the time I see no light or an audible alarm/indication in any way.My opinion of these is they are junk and a waste of money. If the Brakebuddy works you will feel it. I am considering another braking system for the toad..........

I have owned a BrakeBuddy braking system for a Class A motorhome since 2004. Recently the "sending/receivingsystem became unreliable. I ordered a replacement which works perfectly with my motor home, my "toad" car andmy 9 year old BrakeBuddy.Fred

I have an older Brake Buddy and the unit that plugs into the MH broke. The new unit that installs into the Brake Buddy doesn't have wires hanging from the rear view mirror like the old did and is easier to hook up.
