This is a cute little gadget and I think most people will like it.A three in one tool:The seam ripper is very sharp but I have found it a bit fat to hold. My old one was very thin and basic so this wider one will take a bit of getting used to.The needle threader is nice and thin so should work with most needles, it worked just find with the two needles included, even though they have small eyes. The needle storage is handy - pull off the bear's head and the needles store in there by stabbing into a little sponge piece. Some have said the needles go everywhere when you open it but I did not experience that. I used my right thumb to push off the head while my left hand held the head. A smooth and easy process.A great multi-tool to take to quilting or sewing class.

The needle threader and seem ripper are very handy, and the design is adorable. My only complaint is the tiny tiny eyes of the included needles (not terrible, but noteworthy) and more importantly, the head of the bear is hard enough to pull off that it's easy to yeet the needles all over the place trying to get it open. If there was another button to help release the needle cap, that would be much better/safer.Other than that, very cute little sewing gadget!

Like the previous reviewer, and like probably literally anybody who does crafting where you rely on a seam ripper...I have bought a bazillion seam rippers and misplaced pretty much all of them in random places around my crafting areas of the house. And so I figure this one's big and cute and shaped like a bear and ALSO keeps needles in it and doesn't have a cap I can lose? SOLD.It's very cute in person, and it's awesome to have access to three useful tools all at the same time. Now, if I can only remember to put this one where it belongs...

I needed a new seam ripper to replace the one I've been using for at least 30 years (!). Seam rippers are very inexpensive, but this more expensive one gets cuteness points. The seam ripper is plenty sharp and works fine. I found the wide barrel easier to hold than the little skinny end of ordinary seam rippers. I've never used a needle threader, but now having tried the needle threader on this tool, I can't see the advantage. The very thin metal wires wouldn't fit into my regular sized needles and was every bit as difficult to line up with the eye of the needle as just trying to insert a thread manually. That needles can be put inside the tool is handy. However, because the head is difficult to pull off to get to the needles, I tended to pull too hard and then have the needles spray out. The head is also difficult to put back on. It's necessary to squeeze the base of the head that goes into the tube, which is a little awkward.So....very cute, comfortable to hold, but handiest as just a seam ripper.

I really like this item because i feel like it is safer than the traditional seam ripper. This seam ripper automatically retracts. (The needle threader thing also retracts.) The little bear? head is difficult to pull off, which is good for safety reasons. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Very convenient and ergonomic tool. There is a slider to access and retract the needle threader, and another slider for the seam ripper. You can take off the cute bear head on the other end of the tool to access a compartment with two sewing needles. The tool feels light and ergonomic in both small and large adult hands, and the seam ripper is sharp enough for most jobs. This would be a fun gift for a young sewing enthusiast!

What, this is not my 785th purchase of a seam ripper, all I'm saying is, it will stay in my purse (Suuuuuuuuuure it will) so that I can know where one is at any time. I'm guilty, GUILTY of buying seam rippers, only to never ever see them again. Since the this is in a small case, I can place it inside the zipper pocket of my purse and hopefully NEVER use it and forget to put it back. Quite a handy little guilty pleasure.
