3M SJ4570 Dual Lock Low Profile Reclosable Fasteners can replace conventional fasteners such as screws, clips, rivets, snaps, hook and loop and bolts in many applications where access or repositioning is needed. Amazingly thin and reclosable, yet strong, 3M Dual Lock Low Profile fasteners are thinner and more flexible than other reclosable fasteners. SJ4570 is backed with 3M 300 LSE Laminating adhesive, giving it an excellent bond to many substrates including polypropylene, polyethylene, metal, finished wood and many others. Used in POP (point of purchase), trade show exhibition and electronics, Dual Lock low profile reclosable fasteners attach ceiling tiles, carpet, seat cushions, trade show graphics, access panels, wall panels, and small electronic devices. They are also ideal for attaching E-ZPass tags to car windshields. 3M typically recommends 4 square inches of fastener per pound of static load for their low profile dual lock products. The 10-foot sizes are cut from longer source rolls (only the 5/8 inch x 10-foot size of SJ4570 which is specifically labeled as *retail-packaged comes in a package suitable for resale).
Dual lock only has one type of side; unlike products where there are a separate hook and a loop side; so rolls are typically cut in half and then mated or connected so a 10-foot roll would be used as two 5-foot strips. Low profile dual lock has about 700 stems per square inch, but the stems are much shorter than standard dual lock which has either 170, 250 or 400 stems per square inch. They let you make a much thinner joint (an object being mounted would not stick out as far), but it doesn't have the holding power of standard dual lock. This works the best for my interchangeable badge reels. Sticks and locks well; can use a long time. Thickness is perfect. One less star d/t the expensive cost for the amount on one roll.

This product works, but the listing is a little misleading. The roll comes with one strand of low profile dual lock. The listing mentions that the product is 10ft long. However, it takes 2 pieces to make a connection, so you really only have 5 ft of working product. The dual lock itself is very strong. I use it for my badge reels and have had no problems with it. My badge reels stay on throughout my 12 hr work shifts. I also like that the product is low profile, so my charms do not “pop out” on my badge reels.

This simply works great for everything. The only way it could be better is if each piece could become a Command strip, so as to be taken off cleanly later

I attempted to use these outdoors but to no avail. I let the adhesive cure for a while and I had pressed it on the surface very hard in order for it to adhere well. Unfortunately, as soon as I tried to pull apart the velcro pieces, it just ripped the velcro off the adhesed surface, so it ended up being pretty useless for me. These would work great for anyone with a perfectly flat and clean surface indoors, as I don't believe they are best suited for outdoor use.
