From the Manufacturer

There's no more versatile structural epoxy than 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive 100 Plus. It works on a variety of substrates including metals, ceramics and glass, wood, and many plastics. The low viscosity makes it easy to dispense and self-level; and an effective tool for filleting and potting. It features high shear strength and good peel performance that, when combined with good flexibility, make it ideal for a variety of applications in the transportation, specialty vehicle, electrical, general industrial, sporting goods, construction, and consumer goods industries.

Recommended Applications

  • Bonding and joining
  • Gluing and attaching
  • Assembling and sealing
  • Encapsulating and potting

Two Parts, One Common Bond
The mix ratio is 1:1 for quick, precise dispensing, and with a three- to five-minute working time there's some opportunity for repositioning to keep projects on track. The adhesive reaches handling strength in approximately 20 minutes and is fully cured in 48 hours (at 72°F/22°C). This product is available in bulk or smaller Duo-Pak cartridges.

Structurally Strong, What are Epoxies?
Epoxy adhesives are part of the class of adhesives called "structural adhesives," which also includes polyurethane, acrylic, cyanoacrylate, and others. Epoxies begin as liquid reactive polymers that undergo a chemical reaction when mixed, and then cure to form a solid plastic material. Once the two parts are mixed in their specified ratio, they begin the curing process and offer a limited working time where the adhesive can be applied and the two surfaces positioned as need. This "work life" lasts anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours or longer. This class of structural adhesives provides high shear and peel strengths, depending on the formula and better heat and chemical resistance than other common adhesives. Epoxies that are heat cured are more heat and chemical resistant than those that cure at room temperature. Epoxy adhesives are widely used in building and home construction, aircraft and automobile manufacture, bicycle, boat, golf clubs, ski, and snowboard assembly and a host of home use and other applications; virtually anywhere high-strength bonds are needed along with resistance to environmental conditions. These adhesives are popular for their ease of use, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance. Formulations can be created to make epoxies that are flexible or rigid, transparent or opaque, quick setting or slow setting. The versatility with which epoxy adhesives can be formulated helps meet almost any requirement for bonding wood, metal, glass, stone, and various plastics.

Industrial uses for epoxies range widely and include coatings, adhesives, and composite materials like carbon fiber and glass-reinforced plastic. They are the preferred choice for their ability to flow and conform to the work area, strong adhesion, chemical and heat resistance, and exceptional mechanical and electrical insulating properties.

To use this required a special tool.I made a jig to use with my caulk gun, but the epoxy worked well, once I got it out.

I really like this two part epoxy and it is compatible with most materials including metals and plastics (which is rare). Superior over super glue or other 2 part 5 minute epoxies. You'll need some disposable mixing nozzles and the dispense gun to use it however.

My windshield got cracked and replaced. The strips on the side of my vehicle was not put back on properly and eventually came off. I bought new strips and used this epoxy (as recommended by car manufacturer) to put it on. Worked great! You do have to buy the gun and tips to apply it.

Vendor covered expiration date with their bar code. The integrity of the bond is critical to me. Peeling back the label, I am guessing the shelf life will be about 6 months, that or it's expired by 6 months.Won't buy from this vendor again.DP100 is a good product.

Mischt sich aus der doppelspritze heraus selbst sehr schlecht. Die durchmischung ist so gering dass keine vollständige Aushärtung erfolgt.

The product was fine but I ordered old type mixing nozzles and I received the new type DP cartridge so I had to order new type mixing nozzles to match the DP cartridge I received.

I highly recommend 3M Scotch-Weld, it's great. I needed to re-bond metal up stops on the windows of my old car. I previously took it to a local body shop and supposedly the best mechanic was put on the job. Those stops failed after 2 or 3 window up/down cycles. So I decided to do the job myself, but first I had to find an epoxy adhesive I could trust. This one did the job. Now 8 months later those window up stops are still holding and my windows once adjusted are no longer in danger of getting broken hitting the roof when closing the door because the travel is up too far.

This adhesive is used in an applicator gun, which I don't have, so I used a wooden dowel to push each tube equally for an even amount of each. I used it to stick down a transition piece where 2 different floorings meet and it is truly great stuff.
