Deteriorated and melted into sticky gooey mess after 8 years. Seems 3M knows of this problem after researching online. Inferior batch or major fail product? Not sure. Now I need to remove and replace 50 sticky spots.

Ten years ago we bought these for our house and loved them. We just bought another set and they are terrible now. These bumpers are nearly rock hard. They make a loud bang when the door closes now. They used to be the most quiet bumpers available. I know, we purchased so many different ones before so we thought we knew what to get for our new home. I’m very disappointed. Now I have to repeat my search for a soft, quiet closing bumper.

I saw these mentioned in a tech forum as being ideal for dealing with drive noise and vibration in Synology's (fine) Disk Station NAS, so ordered a pack from Amazon.I've installed just one on each honeycomb drive sled, opposite the hole for 2.5" drives. It really does make a difference.Same goes for my Asus U9M SDRW-08U9M-U DVD writer, putting five of these bad boys beneath the drive really helped with the occasional out-of-balance disk. The shape of the SJ6553 Bumpons is just right, the conical shape helps with a little 'give', providing progressive distortion as they compress more. These are somewhere between soft and hard. "Just right", as Goldilocks would have said.Recommended.

Cabinets are expensive, don't cheap out on the very thing that makes them quiet. Other bumpers can have inferior adhesives.

I wanted flat ones, not cone shaped & they are smaller than I expected.

There are some other bumbers out there that make doors and drawers even quieter, but they approach the point where it doesn't look very pleasing. You'll end up with every door and drawer in your kitchen looking like they are not shut all the way. The 3M SJ6553 is a nice compromise. They make shutting doors and drawers quiet and remain unobtrusive. You shouldn't have any problem getting these to stick and hold for a long time. If the surface is rough like OSB, then you'll have a problem, but you're not likely to run into anythig that rough on a bitchen or bathroom cabinet.I prepped the area on every cabinet by rubbing off the sticky residue from the old bumers and wiped it clean with rubbing alcohol. You don't want oils from your skin on the wood. You also want to be caseful to keep from touching the sticky back of the bumbers with your fingers for the same reason.

Over the years, I have used quite a few door bumps as I hate slamming cabinet doors (upgraded quite a few apartment cabinets). This one appears to have a good adhesive, make of a very clear silicone-like material, hexagonal shaped with a pointy tip. The clear color blends in to nearly everything, the shape is sharp and functional. It does a very good job at dampening and the cost per unit is quite good. Best deal that I found so far.

What a wonderful solution for the corners of wood cabinet doors! I put them on all my kitchen cabinet doors to replace the old felt corner pads that had fallen or worn out and they perfectly cushion the wood doors and muffle any sound when the door falls closed. The best solution and so easy to just press on and they are almost invisible, too. I even used one on a table leg that was tottering and it kept the table leg even with the others and now it no longer wobbles.
