What a niifty thrifty idea! The magnets are strong enough to hold while not being so strong that they won't come off easily. They've got a ring of rubber around the magnet itself so your machine won't be scuffed which is quite nice. One of the sides is completely flat while the others have lips over the top of them which should work nicely to help keep the hem folded over. The lipped sides have about a half inch of clearance while the lip itself is about an eighth of an inch so it should work for all but the thickest of fabrics.Should be great for beginners to help teach them where to hold the fabric while running it through the machine.
