I’ve tried a few different tools to help with a straight seam and consistent seam allowance, and this is one of the best I’ve tried so far.It’s very easy to use. Place it on your stitch plate, and the magnet will latch on. Then, slide into the position you need.It has a handy built-in seam ripper, although I don’t use it.One thing to note is that the magnet is very strong. This ensures it doesn’t move while sewing, but I almost can’t remove it again. To make removing it easier, I put a piece of adhesive hook and loop tape, the soft side, on the bottom of the magnet. Now it has the perfect strength. It still stays in place when I sew, and I can easily remove it when I’m done.The seam guide is a good tool for all types of sewers, but it is especially useful for quilting, where precision is required.Overall, I rate the magnetic seam guide five stars. It’s easy to use, has a strong hold, and helps you sew a straight seam.

my neighbor stole my package while I was away so it took a while to get my hands on it, anywaysThe magnets are very cute. The shape and size make it easier on my hands when I’m using the seam ripper. When sliding the needle in and out there is some resistance which is appreciated considering the push and force that is used when ripping through thread. The whole seam ripper aspect gives the magnet more use and functionality outside of being used to aid in keeping my seam allowance at the desired length.The magnet is a good strength, it’s strong enough that even a thicker more durable material like denim won’t be able to move it while going threw the sewing machine, but just enough that it’s not a hassle to remove yourself. There’s a rubber material along the diameter of the magnet which is also nice.

I'm not a great sewist and usually when I have to break out my machine, it's simply to sew something in a straight line and I'm so very slow. These little tools are great! I'm so excited to be able to sew a straight line with ease. I'm not sure that I needed 3 but it's a great value and I can share with my fellow infrequent sewing friends. I am glad that it came with a seam ripper because I had misplaced the one I had. The way the tool can stay stuck to my machine increases the possiblity that I'll never lose it. Great idea in this product.

I got these for my girlfriend and they worked exactly as described. I didn't know what to expect from the pictures but in person they're much more durable then I initially thought. They seem really well made. The magnet on the back is super strong and definitely won't move around on your sewing machine.All you have to do is place the accessory where you want it and it will help guide you when sewing. I thought the stitch remover that's hidden is a very very very convenient feature! The side of the plastic cover has markings to help you measure which is also convenient. All in all, this is a cool accessory if you're into sewing a lot of seams. Especially pants and joggers that are sometimes too long.

Handy tool for sewing! Easy to use. Sadly instructions were not sent BUT the video demonstrating its use is informative and very helpful for getting started using it. I am not great at sewing just yet - just realized that my machine was on a setting preventing fabric from advancing after finally getting my manual online and troubleshooting! I believed it was broken for over a year🤣..so yeah... I'm thrilled to have working machine again and this really helps keep things straight for me. Again watch the video. I decided it was worth a try after seeing that even those with much more experience found this useful. Figured it could definitely help me if they felt it was useful! Definitely happy I ordered this - three pack is nice value. Could be useful gift to fellow sewing friends, if you want to share the ❤️. Magnetic so it stays where you put it- easy to keep near by when not in use and built in seam ripper is excellent for undoing mistakes, starting over, or prepping for repairs etc.. Definitely recommend trying this out. Personally I find it very useful & happy to have run across this gadget! I pretty much love it. So simple - handy - well built. Not flimsy feeling at all!

This nifty little seam guide/ripper came in a package of 3 in different colors. I found reason to have spares. One gadget was attached to my sewing machine. On the other side of my sewing table, I dropped a whole container of straight pins. I needed to get all the pins off the floor before my cat woke up from her nap. I grabbed one of the spare gadgets and used the magnet on the bottom to scoop up every last pin before you-know-who woke up.I threw the spare gadgets in my sewing box. When I opened the sewing box later, the gadget’s magnet had gathered up all the loose pins in the sewing box.Back to what the gadget is supposed to do. It doesn’t stay on my sewing machine very well. It slides around while I’m trying to sew a straight seam. Maybe the magnet is too weak for that.It has a tiny ruler etched into the side. It’s very hard to see and it’s the metric scale, not a very useful feature. There is a very small seam ripper built into one end. It’s very sharp, probably the best seam ripper I have, which is another reason I needed a package of 3.To make a long story short, these are very handy gadgets. I definitely need the whole package of 3. Because they don’t stay on my sewing machine very well, I’m rating this a 4 stars instead of 5.
