no instructions other than the symbol on side of probe. hooked up first prox with load of a 24vdc coil of relay. first couple of times close to metal, the prox light came on. body of prox started getting very warm. light quit coming on. coil is suppose to pull 100mA, under prox rating. second prox connected with nothing connected to load. same timing of prox getting hot, a couple of times light came on and then quit coming on. will be sending back.

I decided to switch from using a light operated design to proximity, and these have worked out very nice. Distance of detection is as stated. Nice long wiring, and to top it off very well put together
