This wheel kit does a fantastic job at holding up our gate.. it stopped our hinge from bending from the weight of the metal gate. The build quality is fantastic and the springs help it cope with uneven ground.

I got this gate wheel for my back gate and it definitely made it easier to open and close the gate, the wheel frame has a good durable metal quality build to it, the wheel itself also feels pretty durable, it was pretty easy to install and it included two long bolts to secure the wheel to the gate, the spring seems to be supporting the weight of the gate with no problems at all, the wheel rolls and turns smoothly, it also has a wheel lock on it too, overall I am very happy with this gate wheel, I would absolutely recommend this product.

This is in fact a heavy duty wheel. Thick metal has a good coating the spring is strong the bolts that it comes with are ample lengths, three and a half inch.

I ordered similar casters from three different sellers. They all suffer the same problem. They aren’t heavy duty. The spring and the wheel seems fine, but the housing that holds rhe wheel and mounts to the spring and bracket is thin metal. They bend with any force at all. Don’t use this for any kind of heavy gate or anywhere the ground isn’t perfectly smooth and level.

I bought the other version of this with the larger wheel, but the wheel hit the gate when is swiveled around while opening the gate. I found this one worked much better for my needs. It comes with the hardware and some suggestions - more so than instructions - on how to mount it. I recommend finding the lowest part of the gate's swing arch and have the wheel just touching there. I used it on a large heavy wooden gate and it did the job well. I could see how using this on a lighter gate might put some stress on the hinges in the portion where the spring is compressed to compensate for the uneven surface. But it is perfect for a heavy gate to rumble over the uneven ground like my gravel road. It eliminated the sag when the gate was completely opened.
