I wasn't sure how well these would work when I first pulled these out of the box. The grasps are metal, and seemed like they would work fine, but the handles were a hard plastic, and a bit large.However, they worked fantastically! If you fish with kids, then these things are a must. Super easy to use. Just use them like tongs and grab the fish. They hold the fish perfectly for hook removal. I recommend an adult using them to grab the fish, then handing it to the child, if they want to hold it. It would be a bit hard for a child to open them up to grab the fish, unless they use two hands. The kids like petting the fish while I held them in the tongs.I suggest putting some floating strap or something on them, just in case they are dropped. But hey, it comes with 4 of them, so there are plenty of spares.

I love fishing and I am not usually a girly girl when I fish, but if I don't have to hold the fish, why would I? These are great! Lightweight and easy to use
