The rings come vacuum-packed and folded in half--so they've sat in a deformed state for a long time. I HOPE that's why the first time I used one my Instant Pot screamed and whistled like a banshee. I was genuinely afraid to go into the kitchen while this eerie noise was going on, but the thing didn't explode. Still, these are not reassuring sounds to hear coming from a pressure cooker. I'll give the same ring one more try, hoping that the heat and temperature have undone the deformation caused by the packaging. If the problem persists, they're all going in the trash.

The seals do fit on the lid. They just have a really hard time sealing and keeping pressure. I have to apply decent force on the lid to get it to seal and after a while of cooking it will start to let steam out of the sides of the lid. All in all it does work just not very well.

I got these silicone replacement rings for my instapot Viva. They fit perfectly! I love that they come in different colors so I can use certain ones for special items. They seal very well just like the original sealing rings. I don't notice any smell since they are just silicone. They are easy to use, you just wiggle out the old ring and slide on the new ring. That's it!

These rings fit and work just as good as the originals. They arrive folded in half, and I was worried that they'd be permanently deformed, but they unfold perfectly. Maybe that's a sign of good silicone? I like that the set is multicolored. This makes it easy to designate one for general use and another just for sweet stuff. Nobody wants chili flavored cheesecake. The set also includes a set of replacements for the pressure valve, too.
