Bought these because a set of brand name core locks arrived with the keys and locks mismatched and the time to receive new ones was too long.What I Liked:1. Availability2. Price3. They workWhat I Didn’t Like:1. There were no instructions. While I didn’t need any because I had already installed a set, the installation is totally obvious, so this is a big omission. Dinging it 2 stars.For those of you who decide to buy these, this is how to install them AFTER you have positioned the brackets:1. There is a key with no teeth. Remove the toothed key, insert this blank one and use it to push the core into the space after removing the plastic plug. The slot should be at 9 o’clock.2. Now, use the toothed key to lock the core by turning it to 12 o’clock. You will know it is locked because you won’t be able to turn the lock handle on the bracket.

The lock cores can be inserted and operate as intended (Yakima Timberline towers).However, the provided control key does not work (fully inserting the key and pulling it out does not allow for the cores to be removed- only the key comes out). I am also unable to pry the cores out while the control key is inserted.This means the lock cores are stuck in the housing and cannot be removed.

I removed the original SKS core with a Yakama core key blank, no problem. I used the knock off core key blank and inserted a replacement core in the Yakama product. Replacement fits, turns and locks as designed and intended however when I went to remove the replacement core using the repalcement core key blank, it could not be removed (30 minutes of trying). The Yakama core key blank does not fit the replacement core nor does the replacement core key blank fit in the Yakama core. If you never anticipate a core change again, this is a cheap solution, but if there is a chance that another core replacement could happen, bite the bullet and pay for the authentic part.

Edit: These lock cylinders work with Yakima Dr. Tray. If you purchase this item, you also need to buy the Yakima SKS control key ($6) if you don't already have it. I would give 5 stars if this set came with a control key that fit the stock Yakima lock.Can't remove old lock because the control key that comes with this set does not fit the stock lock.
