They are working just fine for front porch side window panel curtains. Would have been a 5, but end caps are hard plastic instead of rubber (plastic more likely to scrape paint).

I love a good tension rod. I've used them a lot over the years, for hanging curtains, placing blackout blinds in a window opening underneath the curtains, and other horizontal uses in cabinets, closets, etc. Mostly, though, I've used them vertically in my cabinets, to separate baking sheets of different sizes, and to keep them upright. This frees up a lot of cabinet space that might otherwise be wasted. I got this 3-piece set, as well as a 2-piece set, intending them for my kitchen cabinets. I've been meaning to do this for the entire 4 years we've been in this house. However, I had a rude awakening when I went to actually use the tension rods in a lower cabinet - our "builder" (I use the term loosely) did not have a separate surface installed between the cabinet and the drawer that sits above it. So I have no fixed surface to affix the tension rod there. Moving on, I looked for other places in my home where I might use them. I found they make good separators for the different sizes of my plastic food storage containers and lids, which currently reside in my pantry. I'm thinking it will be easier for my husband and the little ones to see a distinction. We live in hope. haha. I'll use the others in my craft room, to separate the big chunk of random card stock I have managed to acquire over the years. This will be the kids' card stock, that they can use for whatever they want. And they won't be getting into my "real" card stock, which is only for me, to make cards. Bottom line: there is always a good use for a tension rod. These particular rods are well made, with a smooth sizing movement that makes it easy to use. For me personally, I like to size the rods before placing them., then use brute force to move them into place. I find they're almost always impossible to adjust while they're in place. It takes some trial and error, but once they're in place, they are solid as a rock. I've never had to re-place a slipping tension rod, not once. I love that this particular rod is well made, and that it looks good, too. Everything is white, with no ugly gold banding, as rods used to have. I note that, as of this writing, these items are currently unavailable. But don't despair. Just look for a similar item that has all of the good things this rod has: all white, no ugly metal bands; smooth movement when adjusting size (before placing); great adhesion to top and bottom (or both sides) of the surface they're placed in; they stay in place forever, with no slippage or need to re-place. Trust me, you'll be able to think of lots of uses for a good tension rod.

I needed a couple of smaller tension rods, and when I saw this set at such a good price, I ordered immediately. I use tension rods for sooo many things, especially the smaller ones. They come in handy for making a shelf in a cabinet, putting up a little curtain to cover an unattractive open storage space, as dividers in drawers to keep items from sliding around--you can never have too many. These are very nice rods, and I am very happy with them. They are stainless steel with a black matte finish, and would blend in with any decor. Tension rods are easy to use, you just unscrew to a little longer than the length you need, then slide them into place. They have nonskid caps at the ends of the rod, and stay put, not sliding or drooping. These are high quality tension rods, and I would recommend them without hesitation for any use you may think of to put them to. (Was that grammatically correct?)

I have been using tension rods quite a bit in my kitchen and laundry room to organize pots and pans and trays, etc. I decided I needed to find smaller tension rods to organize some of my even more compact areas so I ordered these 12 to 20 inch tension rods and so far they have held up nicely. I don’t put a ton of tension on them, so I really can’t say how strong they are over time if something was hanging from them, but they do the job I need them to.I actually am using these in my freezer because I am at my wits end with the lack of freezer space in my counter depth fridge. I have tried bins and baskets and while that worked for many things, I was losing so much space in there. I decided to try tension rods in my freezer, and I am pretty happy with it so far. Because of the odd nature of my use for this rod, I was very curious if they would work in the freezer, but so far they have done nicely.Bottom line for me on these tension rods is I gave four stars because this is a size that I needed, they are inexpensive, and they are serving the purpose for which I need them. They are definitely small, as they are supposed to be, so I don’t feel like they would hold up a significant amount of weight from them but at this size that would most likely not be their purpose. I would buy these again for organization purposes.
