These are really cool and bright. You have to cycle through three modes, including a strobe mode which I find annoying, to get to the mode you want unless it's off. How this works is the rocker switch turns them on bright mode. Then you turn it off, then on again to get to mellow mode, still pretty bright. Then off again, then you get to strobe mode. This is the only way they work so every third time you turn them on you get that bright strobe in your face.
