New shells should be sterilized in boiling dechlorinated water for five minutes and allowed to cool before being given to your crabs.
About Hermit Crabs ：
1.As the crab grows, it will need to move into bigger and bigger shells. Some crabs just love to change shells for fun, or to find a better fit.
2.Always have a broad selection of different sizes as some hermit crabs like to wear shells that seem too large or too small for them.

The shells were all much bigger than described so my hermit crabs can only use one right now, but they all hold water/aren’t broken so eventually they’ll come in handy

My hermits like to have options. This comes with different sizes, it’s great. One of my hermits changed shells immediately after I washed the shells and put them in their tank. He actually kept shopping around, he loves all the options! :)

Got 4 shells for my hermit crabs. I knew 2 maybe to small but that was ok. The 2 bigger ones are the greatest size, just what I was looking for. Unfortunately,1 of them has 2 pretty big holes in it. Can't be used for my hermit crab. Very disappointed in the holes, they are very visible to the naked eye. I finally found big enough shells, had to buy 2 extra to get the big ones, and one is not useable. Unhappy with the shells.
