These are among a class of essentials anyone needs if they're regularly replacing or updating various parts and modules especially in older cars. The "pliers" are meant to help with the spring-type hose clamps, and their red dipped handles integrate seamlessly with your existing tool set.The tiny crowbar helps disconnect pigtail connectors by gently separating the delicate plastic tab from the retention nodule. Application calls for precision. not force, which you probably already know if you're at a point where a tool like this is on your wish list. The two sides of the fork slip under the tab of the connector you want to remove, allowing it to be pried up and slipped over the protrusion on the receiving connector without getting hung up.This tool will help reduce your dependence on more destructive options such as a pair of traditional pliers, and will hopefully save wear and tear on your hands. Still recommended to wear close-fitting, grippy gloves such as nitrile or latex to aid in separating the sides.Side by side with my Lisle version of the electrical connector separator tool there's only a minimal difference (angles are a little more precise with the Lisle, and the gap between the forks is deeper, but with this tool the forks are longer), so if you need a cost-saving option this set is a smart buy.

Had to use the long straight tool to change some ignition coil connectors and it definitely helped me out. Usually they break because the tabs are all dry rotted. But this helped me save the remaining ones that I was working on. It's sturdy and does the job. I did test the pliers and they worked at crimping a hose connector I had. So far both seem well made and I feel they'll last for years at the rate I have to use them.

I picked up this set of electrical disconnect pliers for a recent wiring project on my car, and they really came through. The angled tips made it easy to reach tight spots, and the grip felt solid without being bulky. They saved me from breaking any clips or connectors, which has happened before with screwdrivers.

I wanted to like these. They looked like they might be useful. However, the first time I closed the pliers, they came apart in my hand. The two halves separated and the spring that holds them open fell on the floor. I was able to put them back together.I took them into the garage, put the pliers on the flat part of my vise and smacked the pin of the pliers with a hammer hard enough to peen the end of the pin and keep them from coming apart. WHoever made these just didn't smack that pin hard enough. They seem to work fine now. I haven't used them yet, but they're ready now when I need them. However, these pliers seem more suitable for clamps like the ones on CV boots. I don't see how they would be useful to disconnect electrical connectors.

The build quality is decent for the price—nothing heavy-duty, but solid enough for DIY or light professional use. I’ve used them on several types of connectors in tight engine bays, and they’ve held up well. The grips are comfortable, and the angled design is especially helpful for reaching awkward spots. My only gripe is that when they arrived, both pliers had a greasy residue on them. It wasn’t a huge deal—I just wiped them down—but it was a bit off-putting straight out of the package. Would’ve preferred them to be clean and ready to use. That said, they’ve performed very well so far, and for the price, I’d still recommend them to anyone working on car wiring.

These electrical disconnect pliers are adding to my growing disconnect and separator tools The sturdy steel build feels reliable, and the anti-slip handles actually make them easier on my older hands. Disconnecting push-tab connectors on sensors or injectors is a lot less frustrating now, especially in those hard-to-reach engine areas. The separator tool is clever, with its double-ended design that fits awkward spots pretty well. However, the pliers are a bit on the bulky side, so they can be tough to squeeze into really tight spaces under the hood. Still, I appreciate not having to worry about damaging connectors or my knuckles. All in all, these tools make automotive electrical work a lot smoother for the average home garage. They do what they’re supposed to and save a fair bit of hassle.
