This bulb can't possibly be rated to 500°.How do I know?I turned my oven up to 500° to finish off a dish and the bulb exploded.I don't recommend these.At. All.

Works fine for our Whirlpool oven. I think the key is this bulb was designed for high heat.

Bulb works fine, but beware... this is the SMALLER bulb but with the regular size base.It's not quite as bright as my old 40 watt, even though this supposedly IS also 40 watt.I guess everything must be shrunk to make more profit now, including a bulb for the oven.

Great little lightbulbs! I don't need to change the oven light very often, but when it goes out, it's an inconvenience. For this oven, the hardest part is getting the glass shield between the bulb and the interior of the oven off. Wait until the oven is cold before trying. Then it's just unscrewing the old and putting in the new bulb. If it lasts as long as the last bulb (several years), then I will be happy.

Arrived unbroken, screw in and they turn on. I don't want to have to think about appliance lights -- I just want to open the oven door and have the light come on, or turn the switch on and have it come on. Mission accomplished.
