Bugbusters boat companionway insects screens: A simple solution for no-see-ums, mosquitos and other bugs... Unique to the market, the Bugbusters companionway insects screens ties to the handrails or is fixed with our new snap kit and drops down to the cockpit floor. No velcro or frame needed. Allows full companionway opening permitting very easy access to and from cockpit. The original, long lasting UV grade Polyester mesh, not a copy! MEASUREMENTS Measure maximum inside measurement from forward of companionway to bottom and add about 2-3 inches. Then take width outside companionway sides and add height of sides over the roof, to get width of screen. Example: A 30" x 68" inside opening, would use a 36" x 72" screen. On the tapered screens, the tapering begins at the halfway point of the length, 34" and 39" respectively. For the 44 x 38 screen, the taper begins at 26 inches. Strong plastic carrying case included!

Used this on a Mac26x and it has worked a charm. Good quality and durable.

Make sure you order the right size. I had to put a couple velcro tabs to attach it, our boat has nothing to tie it to. (Mac 26X) I also put velcro to keep it from falling off the sides when you go in and out. This is nothing more than a rectangle of mesh with weights on the sides and bottom. YES, because of the stupid price I made my own, but it was a PIA to make and eventually it broke. I was not up for that chore again.

The screen could fit a bit better, but it does its job OK.

Used this for the first time for a 4 week sailboat cruise through Florida mangroves...in June...with no wind. Not going to lie, it's hella creepy waking up to see dozens of those little blood suckers hanging out on the outside of the bug screen looking at you. Nary a one in the boat, though. Got lazy and left the screen up on the companionway day in and day out. It was super easy to install and remove, but it was hot...and we were lazy. So we just rolled it up during the day and flopped it down just before sunset. Not a single tear. The ties held just fine. Still looks new. It's either witchcraft or exceptional quality. Considering it went up against pterodactyl-sized mosquitoes and the kind of bloodthirsty sandflies and no-see-ums only FL can produce...and won...I'm leaning towards sorcery.

Decent quality screen. Tie ups at the top, weighted around the outside. No problems. Would recommend. A bit pricey but definitely fits the bill. Beneteau 31.

This was a little pricey but seems to work just fine and holds up well. Came with a nice protective case to stow the screen in when its not mosquito season. I expect this will last for years.
