Great for attaching cameras or spotting scopes to telescope mounts. I have a few manual Alt/Az mounts that can carry scopes with a vixen plate.I also use this to attach a camera to my go-to mount for wide field astronomy photosI got the extra length version to counter balance binoculars

Tried to use as a dovetail for my 8" Newtonian scope. Caused too much vibration, was not usable. Missed the return window, so now I've got an expensive handle.

This is actually a vixen dovetail and works as you would expect with vixen style saddles. It's not super heavy, its quite light instead, it's hollow and has lots of slots for universal use, which is great because a bar this big can get heavy fast. Amazing actually for under $30.
