Garbage. Threads stripped out before removing a single Hub. Don’t market it for truck applications if it can’t handle a 1500 series.

What you see is what i got.Backing plate is thick and heavyThreads are smoothI haven't currently got a bearing in need of changing, but this thing feels like it should help with the next one.Keep in mind, check what your pushing against. Don't push against a brake dust shield without something directly behind it

This is a pretty basic tool. It's very thick so it's not likely to bend under pressure. When using it I would put a bit of grease on the threads just because they could see plenty of force. It does come with a couple of thick washers that need to be used with it. That's why it should be in a plastic case.Because the holes to mount it to the hub are oval to work with a wide range of bolt patterns and lug diameters heavy duty washers must be used. If not you'll most likely damage the lugs. Even with the washers and everything lightened down correctly this tool still applies force on one edge of the hub. If the hub is really stuck on you'll probably need to keep moving the tool to different lugs. I haven't needed the tool but have used one like this in the past. They do work and are kind of worth their weight in gold when you need one.

I got these to pull the front hubs on my '95 Mercedes s500 and '85 Buick Electra station wagon. These hubs are at least 10 years old with 10s of thousands of miles on them through Midwest winters so you can imagine the corrosion and bearing wear on them. The Mercedes hubs don't have studs, rather they are drilled to accept special curved-seat lug bolts so I had to improvise just a little to make it work while not damaging the threads. Fortunately, I have a spare set of lug bolts from other wheels and used them in case a sacrifice to the automotive gods was called for in this case. It took patience, and moving the puller around the hub, securing it to different lugs, and slowly applying enough force to break it free. The kit comes with some big washers that made the connections secure. It worked easier on the Buick that has traditional studs on the hub. Those came out with just 2 placements of the puller, at the top and bottom studs. The tool is pretty hefty, though no real effort was made to clean up the castings. It's painted for corrosion protection, but it's pretty thin and will scratch off over time. My only real complaint is that the "sturdy storage box" they talk about in the listing is just a cardboard box and some foam. Because this thing comes with several parts that are easy to misplace, I think they should have included a cheap blow-molded case like even Harbor Freight tools have. I took a star off for that. Otherwise, I think this is a good tool, and a reasonable price for the shadetree mechanic.

This tool is fantastic! I should have made this purchase along time ago. Would have saved a lot of time and cuss words for sure. If you DIY your automotive tasks then this is a must for your tool collection.

Makes an often difficult removal removal job easier. Nice heavy steel- no worries about durability. Good to have for those full floaters.
