I put up a lot of food from my freeze-dryer in glass canning jars. I don't always get a good vacuum seal so having rims available to hold the canning lids down tight on the jars is important. I have many different styles of canning jars with wide mouths. These rims have tighten down great on all the jars. I have been very happy with them and may need to buy another box of 42 rims.

I'm so freakin' cheap. I've got jar rings that could be classified as antiques. They're dented, pitted, corroded and they are a massive PIA to get onto a jar. I used to have better success canning, but these days it seems that nearly half of my jars don't seal on the first try. I have to wonder if it's my old rings.These fit perfectly and are a breeze to screw on. I've tossed all of my older spare rings and I'll toss the other ones that are currently on canned goods as I use them. What took me this long?
